Hey all,
So I heard this here blogging thing might be worth some marks or something for my Media Productions course. Maybe I should start from the start in case anyone outside of my class chances across this, hey?
So my name is Justin Kukurudz. Friends call me Jaykuk because I have an older brother, 'Kuk' was already taken. I'm a pretty big fan of music and movies and video games... pretty typical right? Oh, and I'm in my first year in a two year course called Media Production. It's this fancy place I go where they let me play with camera's and stuff. Feeling caught up? Slammin'.
As I was saying, I think this thing right here (the thing you are reading!) is worth some marks in my Media Writing 2 class. Furthermore, I believe that Jill, our fearless instructor, wants there to be a bit of a theme. I like the theme idea, because it gives me a chance to get something off my chest.

I would like to take this oppurtunity to warn everyone that reads this: Sci-Fi Comic book loregasm soon to come. If you do not wish to witness the lore or the 'gasms, turn back.

My theme is going to be about the overarching storyline known to Coheed and Cambria fans as The Amory Wars... or maybe it's The Bag.On.Line Adventures of Coheed and Cambria, i'm a little spotty on that at the moment.
I Started listening to Coheed about 3 years ago I think. At first I was like any other fan. I believe the first song I heard from them was 'In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3.' I thought highly of it, it was diffirent. I downloaded a few more tracks and was impressed. "A solid find!" I thought to myself. I made a point to soak in as much as I could from them and see if they we're the real deal. It wasn't until their next album came out that I even heard that the lead singer was involved with comic books. 'Graphic Novels' had never been my thing, so I didn't bother to look into it. It wasn't until shortly after this that I read that their albums were telling a story and connected that with the comics. I began researching in my spare time, at first just so I would know what they were singing about, but then I realized just how complex the whole concept really was.
Before I get too far ahead of myself, I should probably just stop. Over the next few months I will be posting here to give interpretation and insight on lyrics and the comics that encompass The Amory Wars. I will post chronologically in terms of the albums, which tell the tale out of order. I will start with songs off their first studio album as Coheed and Cambria, called The Second Stage Turbine Blade. It should be noted that although this is the first album, it is the second part of the story. Sound confusing? You have no idea.
