Post 1: The Set Up.
So I've promised to to begin my album interpretations soon, but to do so, I've decided I need to give a little bit of the back story to avoid confusion (note: confusion unavoidable). Some of the things I touch on are liable to change, because the back-story to albums 1, 2, and 3 is told in album 4.
I'll try to do this as in my own words as possible. These are my interpretations of lyrics mostly, with a little information from my friends at CobaltandCalcium.com.
So when God created the universe, he had three main beings. Man was to inhabit the planets, Mage was to rule over the 12sectors (at least 12 mages, 12 sectors/planet filled regions,) and Prise to watch over the universe and to make sure they do not dabble in God's affairs. It is mentioned that if the Prise challenge God when he comes to change the face of man, he will destroy all existence. They make a point out of mentioning that Mages we're NOT mentioned in that rule. Possible ramifications!?!?! No idea.
Now, the solar system is held in place by 'The Keywork', fans of the band will recognize this: http://sf0.org/media/CrusherJoe/keywork-bloodre18727.jpg
The keywork was discovered by Dr. Sirius Amory. The triangle represents the 78 planets of their solar system. The circles represent 'Stars of Sirius'. These stars act as transformers, they focus the energy of the keywork (more on the energy later) into beams that pass through all 78 planets. These beams act as sunshine and keep the planets from drifting off . The visible beam of light passing through the 78 planets is known as Heaven's Fence. Representations of the keywork are all bird's eye view. It should be known that the centre star is Star IV. I believe that the energy pulsing through the transformers and planets contains the souls of the deceased. Whether or not that was God's plan is, to me, uncertain. I don't think so though, I believe the Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan has something to do with that.
Ah! Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan! So basically, ruling sectors was not good enough for the Mages, war broke out in the 12 sectors. The Prise weren't sure what God wanted them to do, they got in a war with the mages. Ryan won the war, and turned the surviving mages (8 of them) into Onstantine Priests (mutated creatures similar to the original ring-holding kings of Lord of the Rings that search for the short fella.)
Coheed is given a special responsibility by Hohenberger. The good Doctor places the Monstar (yes, like Space Jam) Virus around Coheed's heart. If injected into his heart, it would have a cooling effect on the nearest star transformer, destroying the Keywork's gravitational powers to that sector and sending the closely aligned planets spiral
ling out of control! ZOMG! Why would he do such a thing? You know I'm actually not too sure. I think it was sort of the 'we have enough nukes to destroy everything so don't mess with us' approach. It is noted that Cambria is the trigger, but only Jesse knows how to use both of them properly.
Anyways, Hohenberger is murdered by Wilhelm Ryan's 'Red Army' or he stages his death or Coheed goes crazy and kills him or he doesn't want the red army to come kill him so he lets coheed go crazy and kill him. Coheed and Cambria's memories are erased, along with a special new IRO-Bot Josephine, who is said to be Coh and Cam's daughter AND the anti-dote to Coheed's dormant Monstar virus.
WOW. Apologies to anyone who found that so fascinating they read it all, I got sort of carried away. I'll add retations.) anything that should be added to this section pre-album 4 that I come across. Expect shorter posts once I begin my individual song interps.

If Josephine is in fact another IRObot, then where does Coheed and Cambria's eldes "son," Claudio fit in? And while I'm on the track of characters left out of your explanation, what of Mayo Deftinwulf? Also, if Dr. Hohenberger only creates The Knowledge, The Beast, and The Inferno, where do the other IRObots come from?
Ah you see, I said he 'initially' only created three, I forgot to add in that in the comics, right before he erases Coheed and Cambria's mind's, his assistant hands over her life's work - the antidote to the MonStar Virus - Josephine. Whether the others were created in a shop or 'pro-created' after being hidden on Hetricus (home planet)I do not know.
Iro-Bots are robots with some human organs is how I understand it. If they don't have organs they have a mechanism that works a lot like what we got going on if you know what I'm saying.
Mayo Deftinwolf is the right-hand man (although demoted and promoted later in the story) of Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan. He does the dirty work. I believe he's a cyborg. In the comics he's a big black dude with a red eye. Check them out!
Any thing else I missed (this story is massive, I have missed) just ask and I will comment. If there are enough of them I will edit the original.
